I'm primarily a Windows user, myself, and you should be able to get things working in Windows, but running one OS inside another adds another layer of complexity for things to go wrong with- if you're running Windows on a virtual machine. Welcome, you using Windows on the Mac for a specific reason? I'm thinking you might want to see if you can get things working in the macOS first, and once you've done that you can try getting things working in Windows on the Mac.
